Annals of Clinical and Analytical Medicine is an international open-access journal containing peer-reviewed high-quality articles on clinical medicine in the areas of all research study types, reviews, and case reports.
ACAM is dedicated to the dissemination of the unique papers to all researchers, scientists, and clinicians to promote and share progress within the scope of the journal. The journal is published monthly. Manuscripts written in English are welcomed from all countries. The authors undertake all scientific responsibility for their manuscripts.

In 2020, 159 articles were published in ACAM including original research and reviews.
The Journal is an open- access journal; individuals can freely access, read, save, copy, scan, link the entire text, index, transfer the published content into a software and use the published content for all legal purposes. The content of the journal is open to access in line with the policy of Budapest Open Access Initiative for developing, supporting, and extending the science. If the purpose is scientific citations, other than commercial purposes, the content of the journal can be used by the license of the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International Licence (CC BY-NC). For commercial use by individuals, it is necessary to obtain written permission from the journal. The journal does not charge Article Processing Fees (APC) and / or Submission Fees. The content of the the journal Annals of Clinical and Analytical Medicine is licensed under Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International Licence.

The journal Annals of Clinical and Analytical Medicine does NOT charge authors for submission, processing, or publication.
Plagiarism is the act of reproducing article from other papers without properly crediting the source. Plagiarism represents a serious ethical breach. Manuscripts submitted to ACAM should be original and must not be plagiarized. Every submitted article is checked for plagiarism (iThenticate: Plagiarism Detection Software, CrossCheck). When plagiarism is detected before publication, ACAM section editor will alert the author, asking to rewrite or quote exactly and cite the original source. If the study was extensively (at least 20 % of the original submission) plagiarized, the article is rejected. When plagiarism is detected after publication of the article, the editors will notify readers. That article will be immediately withdrawn and removed from the website. The concerned authors will be considered ineligible for publication of their articles in ACAM for five years. All concerned authors are required to submit a signed form showing that the paper was not simultaneously submitted elsewhere and was not plagiarized.
Ethical standards for publication exist to ensure high quality of scientific publications, public trust in scientific findings, and that people receive credit for their work and ideas.
The Editorial Board of Annals of Clinical and Analytical Medicine and the Publisher adhere to the principles of the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE), the World Association of Medical Editors (WAME), the Council of Science Editors (CSE), the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), the US National Library of Medicine (NLM), the World Medical Association (WMA), the US Office of Research Integrity (ORI), the European Association of Science Editors (EASE), and the International Society of Managing and Technical Editors (ISMTE).

The copyright of published manuscripts is held by the Annals of Clinical and Analytical Medicine. Any commercial use of data, tables, figures, or videos published in ACAM without the written permission of the publisher is prohibited, even if they are taken from the authors’ own manuscripts to be used in any commercial purpose. This statement is consistent with the Creative Commons (Attribution-Noncommercial) code (http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0/). The corresponding author must submit Copyright Transfer Form signed by all authors in Online Submission Step to the journal.
Manuscript writers are not paid by any means for their manuscripts. Content of the articles is entirely on the responsibility of the author. For any commercial use of material from this open-access journal, permission must be obtained from Annals of Clinical and Analytical Medicine.
All the listed authors must have made a significant scientific contribution to the study of the manuscript, approve its statements and agree to be an author. It is important to list everyone who made a significant scientific contribution. Changes in authorship must be declared to the journal and agreed with all authors. Anyone who has contributed to the study or preparation of the manuscript, but is not an author, should be acknowledged with their permission. Submissions by anyone other than one of the authors will not be considered.
After the initial submission of a manuscript, any changes whatsoever in authorship (adding author(s), deleting author(s), or re-arranging the order of authors) must be explained by a letter to the editor from the authors concerned. This letter must be signed by all authors of the paper. Copyright assignment must also be completed by every author.
Correction of authorship: ACAM does not correct authorship after publication unless a mistake has been made by the editorial staff. Authorship may be changed before publication but after submission when an authorship correction is requested by all of the authors involved with the manuscript.
Originality, Plagiarism, and Duplicate Publication
Submitted manuscripts must not have been previously published or be under consideration for publication elsewhere. No part of the accepted manuscript should be duplicated in any other scientific journal without the permission of the Editorial Board. This restriction does not apply to abstracts or press reports published in connection with scientific meetings.
Submitted manuscripts are screened for possible plagiarism/self plagiarism or duplicate publication by the software ( iThenticate: Plagiarism Detection Software (CrossCheck)) upon arrival. If plagiarism or duplicate publication related to the papers of this journal is detected, the manuscripts may be rejected, the authors will be announced in the journal, and their institutions will be informed.
A letter of permission is required for any and all material that has been published previously. It is the responsibility of the author to request permission from the publisher for any material that is being reproduced. This requirement applies to text, figures, and tables.
Conflict of Interest
Annals of Clinical and Analytical Medicine requests the authors to state all the financial resources that may be potential conflict of interest regarding their manuscript. When editors detect any potential upcoming conflicts, they contact the authors to remedy any discrepancies. Declared conflicts of interest will be considered by the editor and reviewers and included in the published article. If there is no conflict of interests, the authors should state “The author(s) declare(s) that there are no conflicts of interest regarding the publication of this paper.”
Reviewers should decline to review a submitted paper in the following circumstances:
- When reviewers had a recent publication or current submission with any author
- When reviewers share or have recently shared an affiliation with any author
- When reviewers collaborate or have recently collaborated with any author
- When reviewers have a close personal connection with any author
- When reviewers have a financial interest in the subject of the paper
- When reviewers feel unable to be objective
Reviewers must inform editor about any remaining interests confidentially.
Reviewers must inform editor if they have previously discussed the submitted paper with the authors.
Reviewers are encouraged to comment on authors’ declared conflicts of interest. If there are concerns that authors have not fully disclosed financial, institutional, commercial, personal, ideological, or academic interests, this should be mentioned in the reviewer’s report.
Authors are required to declare the support they received to carry out their research. Declaring funding sources acknowledges funders’ contributions, fulfills funding requirements, and promotes greater transparency in the research process. Information includes the name of granting agencies, grant numbers, and a description of each funder’s role. If the grant is not related to the published research authors are not required to provide the complete list of every single grant that supports them. If funders played no role in the research, this must be stated as well. Funding information is entered in the online submission system.
Human and Animal Rights
Informed consent must be obtained from each of the research participants. In such studies, the authors must specify that they comply with the international guidelines, the “Regulations on Pharmaceutical Research” enforced by The Ministry of Health of Turkey published in the 27089 numbered Official Journal dated 23 December 2008, and the other regulations published later and all procedures performed in studies involving human participants should be in accordance with the ethical standards of the institutional and/or national research committee and with the 1964 Helsinki Declaration and its later amendments or comparable ethical standards. It should be expressed that in the experimental studies that all animals are subject to the ethical treatment in accordance with Guide for the Care and Use of Laboratory Animals. Editors expect that all investigations involving humans are performed in accordance with these principles. For animal experimentation reported in the journal, it is expected that investigators observe the Interdisciplinary Principles and Guidelines for the Use of Animals in Research, Testing, and Education issued by the New York Academy of Sciences’ Adhoc Committee on Animal Research. Studies on animals require ethical approval.

Any research that deals with a clinical trial should be registered in at least one of the clinical research databases listed below:
- The primary national clinical trial registry site or authorized clinical database of the research institution.
- Other primary national registry sites accredited by the World Health Organization, or ClinicalTrials.gov https://clinicaltrials.gov/

Cases that require editorial expressions of concern or retraction shall follow the COPE flowcharts available from: http://publicationethics.org/resources/flowcharts. Data collection, follow-up method and statistical methods (detailed) used in the manuscripts are reviewed by experienced statisticians.

Annals of Clinical and Analytical Medicine allows authors to deposit any version (the Final Published PDF or Accepted Manuscript or Original Submission) of their manuscript in institutional or other repositories as long as its original authors, citation details, and publisher are identified. Written permission from the publisher is required for commercial use of the content.
Journal’s Data Protection Policy
The content of the journal will be protected. If the journal updates the website and changes the web address, the archive of the journal website will be saved on the old website. The entire archive will also be added to the new website so that users can easily access this content. The current content is preserved in line with our journal’s policies for digital protection. In 2019, the ISSN and title of the journal have been updated. Our entire archive is available on our new website and old website content is maintained as well.
When the submitted articles arrived to the journal, one of the Editors read each manuscript. Editors have to make first decision very quickly. We aim to make the first decision on all manuscripts within one or two weeks after submission. During the first decision, the journal editors mainly check whether the manuscript is consistent with the scope and objectives of the journal and the minimum acceptable quality, whether the manuscript complies with journal instructions for the authors. The editor decides whether to send it for a full review. If a paper is rejected without external review, authors are notified electronically on decision time by email. We retain copies of rejected manuscripts for three months, after which we delete them from our system.
Only after passing the initial screening, the manuscript is sent for double-blind review. At least two peer-reviewers are selected for the peer-review process. Names of reviewers and authors are not revealed to each other. We encourage reviewers to help authors improve their manuscripts. The report should contain constructive analysis for authors, especially where revision is recommended. If reviewers do not wish authors to see certain comments, these can be added to confidential comments for the editor.
While expectations vary by discipline, some key aspects that should be evaluated by reviewers may include:
Are the research questions valid?
Is the sample size sufficient?
Is there necessary ethical approval and/or consent and was the research ethical?
Are the study design and methods appropriate to answer the research question?
Do the experiments have appropriate controls?
Is the reporting of the methods, including any equipment and materials, sufficiently detailed that the research might be reproduced?
Are statistical tests appropriate and correctly reported?
Are the figures and tables clear and do they accurately represent the results?
Has previous research by the authors and others been discussed and have those results been compared to the current results?
Are there any inappropriate citations, for example, not supporting the claim being made or too many citations to the authors’ own articles?
Do the results support the conclusions?
Are limitations of the research acknowledged?
Is the abstract an accurate summary of the research and results, without spin?
Is the language clear and understandable?
We encourage reviewers to focus their reports on objectively critiquing the scientific aspects of the submission, including soundness of the methodology and whether the conclusions can be supported by the results. Comments may also be given on novelty and the potential impact of the work.
We ask authors to declare potential conflicts of interest to any of the reviewers. The final decision concerning the manuscript is made during the regular Editorial meeting. All reviewers’ assessment reports are reviewed and the final decision is made based on the originality, quality, importance, scientific value, and ethical aspects of the article. All authors are asked to submit any conflict of interest, to complete and sign the Copyright Release Form. We send reviewers’ comments to authors, regardless of whether we accept the article or not.

Editorial Board Principles
These principles describe the aims, structure and the tasks of Annals of Clinical and Analytical Medicine (ACAM) (published by Derman Medical Publishing) Editorial Board with the goal of increasing the scientific nature of the journal and autonomous nature of the Editorial Board, and the improvement of the scientific character of the journal is determined by the indexation of the journal in national and international indices. For these purposes the Editorial Board of the journal works according to the following principles:
Aims and Tasks of the Editorial Board
The aim of the Editorial Board is to publish a scientifically high-rated journal on time within international standards. Classifying the submitted articles, sending them for review to internationally respected reviewers and checking the whole editorial process are the tasks of the Editorial Board. During the whole process the authors will be assisted educationally and instructively.

ACAM Publication Board Appointments
The tasks and appointments of the journal are determined by ACAM Board of Directors according to the needs of the journal. ACAM Editorial Board is composed of Scientific Committee, the International Advisory Board, the Advisory Board, the Journal Production Board, and the ACAM Book Production Board. The positions of Editor, Assistant Editor, Advisory Board Chairman, International Advisory Board, Advisory Board, Secretary, Statistician, Graphic and Design Specialist and Legal Adviser to the Journal are defined below. Only technical personnel (secretary, designer, advertising manager, etc.) receive remuneration from the journal. The other positions are not paid.
How can I work for ACAM?
In order to work for ACAM an author must apply to the editor with the following information; CV, Scientific publication list, Corresponding address. A letter to the editor including a brief description of the work on demand, or projects for the ACAM . The applications are evaluated by the Editorial Board and the applicant is informed about the result.
Secession or Termination from Editorial Board Membership
Except for technical personnel, the member must send an e-mail to the secretariat indicating that he or she is quitting from his or her duty. As soon as the e-mail is received, it is considered as accepted, and that the person is relieved from duty. Following this procedure, the person must send all ID cards and documents of the journal to the secretariat. Persons who are not performing their duty properly can be dismissed by the editor or ACAM Editorial Board.
Scientific Board is composed of Editorial Board of the Journal.
International Advisory Board
International Advisory Board is composed of members who can represent the journal at international science platforms. Members inform the editor about their opinions and suggestions. Members contribute to creating the policy of the journal.
Advisory Board is composed of members who can represent the journal, they inform the editor about their opinions and suggestions. Advisory Board makes contributions to create the policy of the journal
Journal Production Board
The Board is responsible for publishing the issues of the journal. The duties and responsibilities of the Board members are determined by the editor.
ACAM Book Production Board
Book Production Board prepares the book series of ACAM. The duties and responsibilities of the Board members are determined by the book’s editor. For each new book the Editorial Board is determined by the editor.
The Editor is a member and chair of ACAM Editorial Board. Meetings (of the Board of Directors) with more than one editor are chaired by the senior editor.
He or she determines the agenda of the meetings. The editor is responsible for implementation and follow-up of all decisions made. He or she also gives a detailed report about the work to be done at the end of each academic year.
If the editor has not attended the Board of Directors meeting even once, his or her position is terminated (except international members).
During review of an article, the editor ensures the confidentiality of author, affiliation and reviewer information. He cannot use or transfer the data of the authors, reviewers or other third party information to locations outside the journal. In the event of a breach of this rule, he is legally liable for any misuse of the information.
He or she can let the readers see an accepted article. He cannot allow the reader to see the unaccepted article. He or she is responsible for the preparation and completion of the process of participation in the international indexes.
He or she plans and applies additional measures to increase the citation of articles in the ACAM
He or she provides access to the journal for authors and readers.
He or she determines the current medical issues. He sends letters of invitation to international authorities to submit articles on these subjects, and obtains these types of articles for printing in the journal.
He protects the rights of the subjects of the studies, manages the ethical committee approval process, and ensures informed consent of the study participants before publication.
The editor is responsible for the content and variety of the articles of the journal
He or she prepares and makes updates of article preparation, submission and evaluation guidelines for publications
He or she makes the necessary research for ethics violations, or violations of scientific process, and cancels the publication process until any ethical problem is solved.
If the ethical problem occurs after publication, the editor shares information about the ethical violation with authors and readers.
The editor cannot have personal, economic or political links which can affect his tasks and responsibilities.
During the article evaluation process he should be objective and should not be under any outside influence.
He or she plans for the future policy of the journal and makes any necessary revisions.
Scientific content should be considered separately from the advertising considerations.
Editor of the journal will not provide additional support for the expenditures. Staff and technical equipment will be provided by the owner of the journal.
The editor consults with the staff about any problems. If necessary, he warns the staff or makes changes.
The editor selects assistants and announces them to the editorial board at the beginning of the academic year.
He or she reviews the submitted articles. If necessary, he takes recommendations from consultants.
He or she ensures the selection of impartial consultants, follows the reports of the reviewers, and does not allow criticisms which are unfair to the author. In these cases he warns or changes the reviewer.
Gives the final decision of whether an article should be accepted.
The decision to reject a submitted article is given based on the scientific nature of the article.
If a revision is required for an article, and the author re-submits the article without requested revisions, he rejects the article.
If the author of a rejected article makes an objection, the editor reviews his decision.
He or she evaluates the articles in a standard manner and never gives a guarantee of publication.
He rarely sends his own studies to the journal.
Duties of the Secretary
The secretary is responsible to the editor of the journal.
His or her personal rights are covered by the owner of the journal.
He or she provides confidentiality of information of the authors, affiliates and reviewers.
He cannot use or transfer the data of the authors, reviewers or other third parties to locations outside the journal. In that case he is legally responsible for any misuse.
He or she checks the e-mail of the journal daily. In case of any problems he contacts with the editor to solve the problem.
He is off the work on Sundays and public holidays.
He has 10 days off annually. In case of more off days he does not receive remuneration. He cannot have more than 20 off days annually.
Duties of the Assistant Editor
He is a member of the Board of Directors of ACAM and selected by the editor. His duties are described by the affiliate editor. He or she helps the editor with the publication process of the journal.
He or she is obliged to attend the meetings of the Board of Directors
In case of not attending the Board of Directors meeting even once, his or her position is terminated.
He or she cannot use or transfer the data of the authors, reviewers or other third party transfer to other locations outside the journal. In that case he is legally responsible for misuse.
He or she checks the e-mails of the journal daily. In case of any problem he or she contacts the editor to solve the problem.
The editor can ask for his assistance anytime.
He or she can be an editor in ACAM book series.
He or she receives a certificate on completion of his or her duty.
Duties of the Statistics Expert
He reviews the submitted article in terms of medical statistics. He makes his reviews in seven days after receiving an invitation letter.
Duties of the Graphics and Design Specialist
He is responsible for graphics and design of the journal.
Duties of the Legal Adviser
He or she is responsible for legal issues pertaining to the journal.
Duties of the Reviewers
Reviewers review the articles submitted to the journal. They make their review within seven days after receiving the invitation. They cannot have additional time to review the article. If a reviewer does not review the submitted article on time, no more articles are sent to him or her for review. The reviewers are responsible for updating their corresponding addresses on the web site. There is a priority in assignment of the reviewers, which is recommended by the author. The reasons of rejection of an article should be clearly stated. The reviewer must clarify the reasons if he or she rejects an article. He or she should add at least a short information note for the editor and author when sending a review. The reviewer never gives his or her name or affiliation in the review document. Criticism must be aimed at the content of the article not at the author.

The editorial board is selected by the Board of Directors of ACAM. They are informed about their duties according to the needs of the journal.
Duties of the Scientific Committee Members
They are consulted about any subject related to the journal.
Duties of the Advisory Board Chairman
He or she is the chairman of the ACAM Advisory Board.
He or she provides correspondence with the ACAM advisory board according to the suggestions of the Board of Directors.
He or she represents ACAM in panels and scientific meetings.
He or she makes suggestions to editors and ACAM Board of Directors.
He or she gives ideas to ACAM Board of Directors about the publication policy of the journal.
Duties of the International Advisory Board Members
The duty of the International Advisory Board is to make suggestions to ACAM Board of Directors about any issues of the journal.

Duties of the Owner of the Journal
The owner is responsible for management of the web site of the journal.
The owner publishes the journal and the books of ACAM
The owner manages the personnel issues of the technical personnel of the journal.
The owner is the only official responsible for income and expenses of the journal.
The journal is fully funded by Bayrakol MP and does not accept advertisements. Bayrakol obtains its financial support from books, translation and also there are incomes from articles that are used for commercial purposes.
We aim to respond to and resolve all complaints quickly and constructively.
For Appeal against editorial decisions: If the authors disagree with the editorial decision on their manuscripts, they have a right to appeal.
Authors who wish to appeal an editorial decision should contact the Editor-in-Chief of ACAM. In such cases, the Editor-in-Chief will review the manuscript, editorial, and peer reviewers’ comments and give his/her decision for accepting or rejecting a manuscript. Editor-in-Chief may, if so required, send the manuscript to a new handling editor for a fresh editorial review and to new referees for peer review. The decision of the Editor-in-Chief in such a case will be final.
