Introduction

Comment on: “The effect of pregnancy-related urinary incontinence on incidence and quality of life”
Recent studies, including that by Şahin et al. (2023), have underscored the utility of the Questionnaire for Urinary Incontinence Diagnosis (QUID) in differentiating stress versus urge urinary incontinence in pregnant women 1. However, its application in Turkish populations necessitates a culturally adapted, psychometrically validated instrument.
To address this need, we conducted a methodological study of 600 Turkish women 2. We demonstrated high internal consistency (Cronbach’s α = 0.858), excellent test–retest reliability, and strong convergent validity with the King’s Health Questionnaire and the Incontinence Severity Index. Receiver operating characteristic analyses yielded area under the curve values from 0.886 to 0.996 across all subscales, confirming robust discriminative performance.
We therefore invite the journal and future investigators to adopt this validated Turkish QUID to enhance diagnostic accuracy and facilitate cross-study comparability.
