Publication Ethics & Plagiarism Policy
Publication Ethics
Annals of Clinical and Analytical Medicine is committed to upholding high ethical standards and transparency in scientific publishing.
Commitment to Ethical Standards and Transparency
Annals of Clinical and Analytical Medicine is dedicated to conducting all publishing processes in line with high ethical standards and principles of transparency. We ensure that scientific integrity, impartiality, and adherence to ethical guidelines are maintained at every stage.
Responsibilities of Authors
Authors are accountable for the scientific accuracy and ethical compliance of their work. They must confirm that the submitted work is original, has not been published elsewhere, and is not under review in another journal. All authors should adhere to ethical guidelines in their research and provide any necessary ethics approvals. Proper attribution of all contributors is required, and plagiarism is strictly prohibited.
Responsibilities of Reviewers
Reviewers must maintain confidentiality during the review process and provide impartial, constructive feedback. If a conflict of interest arises, reviewers should recuse themselves from the review. They are also encouraged to report any ethical issues or signs of plagiarism to the editorial team. Reviewers should assess submissions objectively, without using the content for personal advantage.
Responsibilities of Editors
Editors are responsible for ensuring impartiality, integrity, and confidentiality throughout the publication process. Publication decisions are based solely on scientific merit and ethical compliance. Editors take steps to prevent conflicts of interest and act upon any ethical violations or misconduct by conducting necessary investigations and taking appropriate action.
Conflict of Interest
Authors, reviewers, and editors must disclose any potential conflicts of interest. All parties involved in the review and publication process are expected to declare existing or potential conflicts to maintain impartiality. Editors carefully assess disclosed conflicts to ensure they do not influence the publication process.
Procedures for Handling Ethical Violations
Annals of Clinical and Analytical Medicine follows COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) guidelines in cases of ethical misconduct. If an ethical violation is identified, the editorial team assesses the situation and takes the necessary steps, including retracting the article and notifying relevant institutions. Post-publication ethical issues may lead to corrections or retractions as deemed appropriate.
Confidentiality and Protection of Information
All manuscripts under review are kept confidential and are only accessible to authorized individuals. The identity of authors is concealed from reviewers through a double-blind review process. Reviewer comments and evaluations are also kept confidential and shared solely between editors and the respective authors.
Post-Publication Corrections and Retractions
If an error or ethical violation is found in a published article, the journal reserves the right to correct or retract the paper. Any correction or retraction process is conducted transparently and in alignment with principles of academic integrity.
Plagiarism Policy
Annals of Clinical and Analytical Medicine is dedicated to upholding scientific integrity and publication ethics by requiring all submitted articles to be free from plagiarism and contain original content. Authors must present only their unique work and properly cite all sources used.
ACAM enforces a strict zero-tolerance policy against plagiarism and academic misconduct to maintain scientific reliability. All submissions are meticulously reviewed to ensure they meet high academic standards.
Plagiarism Check Process
All manuscripts undergo a comprehensive plagiarism check before publication. Submitted content is screened using reliable software, such as DupliChecker, to evaluate similarity indices within the text. Manuscripts exceeding acceptable similarity thresholds are returned to authors for revision or may be rejected.
The acceptable similarity rate is below 20%, as recognized by the scientific community. If the text is found to lack originality or proper citation, the article may be rejected.
Author Responsibility
Authors are required to ensure that their manuscripts are entirely original and contain no plagiarized content. They are responsible for properly attributing all direct and indirect references. ACAM upholds rigorous standards and expects authors to maintain academic integrity.
Authors must also confirm that their work has not been previously published or is not under review in any other journal.
Types and Scope of Plagiarism
ACAM considers not only direct copying but also other forms of academic misconduct, such as improper citation, unattributed ideas, and self-plagiarism. Submitted content must be wholly original and should not have been published or submitted elsewhere.
Actions if Plagiarism is Detected
If plagiarism is identified, authors are required to correct it immediately. In cases where plagiarism is discovered post-publication, the article will be retracted, and the author’s institution will be informed. Repeated offenses may result in stricter sanctions against the author.
Works found to contain plagiarism will be immediately rejected. In cases of repeated violations, authors may face extended or permanent bans from submitting to ACAM.
Role of Reviewers and Editors
Reviewers and editors are expected to remain vigilant against plagiarism and report any suspicious cases to the ACAM editorial team. Editors manage the process with transparency and adherence to integrity principles.
