Digital Archiving and Preservation Policy
As part of its long-term publishing vision, Annals of Clinical and Analytical Medicine (ACAM) adopts a sustainable and transparent digital preservation strategy. Our objective is not only to archive but also to actively manage and maintain digital content across time, ensuring that scientific knowledge remains accessible regardless of technological evolution or institutional changes. This includes periodic validation of archived files, metadata integrity checks, and alignment with evolving archiving protocols.
In addition to our collaboration with Internet Archive, ACAM actively monitors developments in global digital preservation systems. We maintain our core partnership with Internet Archive to ensure long-term accessibility and system redundancy. Archived content is stored with persistent identifiers, ensuring reliable citation and long-term retrievability.
To further enhance reliability, ACAM uses version control mechanisms for all archived content. In the event of article corrections, retractions, or updates, each version is retained and timestamped to provide a transparent historical record. File integrity is ensured through checksum validation and server-level monitoring. All data is stored on secure infrastructure with scheduled encrypted offline backups, minimizing the risk of data corruption or unauthorized access.
ACAM’s archiving framework is guided by international ethical standards, including those established by COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics), ICMJE (International Committee of Medical Journal Editors), and WAME (World Association of Medical Editors). Our approach integrates legal data retention standards with ethical requirements to protect the accuracy, authenticity, and credibility of the scientific record.
The journal views archiving not only as a technical responsibility but also as a matter of public trust. By maintaining a traceable, ethically preserved, and openly accessible archive through trusted platforms like Internet Archive, ACAM upholds its commitment to research transparency, scientific accountability, and scholarly integrity. Readers, institutions, and indexers can rely on our system to preserve published content for the benefit of future generations.
