Publication Ethics

Annals of Clinical and Analytical Medicine is committed to upholding high ethical standards and transparency in scientific publishing.

Commitment to Ethical Standards and Transparency

All publishing processes are conducted with a focus on scientific integrity, impartiality, and strict adherence to international ethical guidelines. Transparency is maintained at every stage of the editorial and review process.

Responsibilities of Authors

Authors must ensure that their submissions are original, not previously published, and not under review elsewhere. Ethical approvals must be provided when required, and all contributions must be properly acknowledged. Plagiarism is strictly prohibited.

Responsibilities of Reviewers

Reviewers must maintain confidentiality, provide objective and constructive feedback, and disclose any conflicts of interest. They should report suspected ethical breaches or plagiarism to the editorial team and refrain from using the manuscript content for personal benefit.

Responsibilities of Editors

Editors are responsible for making impartial publication decisions based solely on the scientific merit and ethical compliance of submissions. Editors ensure confidentiality, manage conflicts of interest, and address misconduct in accordance with COPE guidelines.

Conflict of Interest

All parties—authors, reviewers, and editors—must disclose potential conflicts of interest. These disclosures are reviewed by the editorial board to ensure they do not affect the fairness and integrity of the publication process.

Procedures for Handling Ethical Violations

Cases of suspected misconduct are handled in line with COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) recommendations. Measures may include article retraction, institutional notification, and post-publication corrections or editorial notes as necessary.

Confidentiality and Protection of Information

Manuscripts under review are kept strictly confidential. A double-blind review process is implemented, and reviewer identities are concealed. Reviewer comments are shared only with editors and the relevant authors.

Post-Publication Corrections and Retractions

If a significant error or ethical issue is identified after publication, the journal may issue a correction or retract the article. All such actions are taken transparently and in accordance with academic integrity standards.

Our editors evaluated

Ethical Standards

Our editorial team held a comprehensive meeting to strengthen ethical publishing principles and improve our processes. We maintain impartiality, transparency, and strict compliance with international ethical publishing standards across all stages of peer review.

Use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) Tools

The use of artificial intelligence (AI) tools such as ChatGPT, Gemini, Copilot, or Grammarly in the preparation of manuscripts is permitted only under strict ethical conditions. These tools cannot be listed as authors or co-authors, as they do not meet the authorship criteria defined by ICMJE.

Disclosure Requirement

Authors must clearly disclose the use of AI tools within the manuscript, specifying the exact role and extent (e.g., language editing, formatting, summarization). This information should be stated in the Acknowledgments or Methods section as appropriate.

Author Responsibility

All responsibility for the accuracy, originality, and ethical compliance of the content lies solely with the human authors. AI tools must not be used to generate, analyze, or interpret scientific data, nor to draw conclusions without expert oversight.

Misuse of AI Tools

The use of AI tools to fabricate data, invent citations, manipulate references, or plagiarize content constitutes a violation of academic ethics. Such misconduct will result in immediate rejection or retraction of the manuscript, and notification of relevant institutions if necessary.

Compliance with International Guidelines

This policy is aligned with the recommendations of COPE, ICMJE, WAME, and DOAJ. Authors are strongly encouraged to consult these bodies for further guidance on the ethical use of AI tools in scholarly publishing.
